A catch-all functionality that is enabled for a certain e-mailbox will allow you to receive email messages that are sent to email addresses that do not really exist. Otherwise said, if you delete an email address and somebody still sends an email to it, or to any misspelled email address under the same domain, you will get the message in the catch-all mailbox. Using this feature means that you won’t miss an email for any reason, which could be vital in case you are running some company, for instance. Since you may begin receiving spam email messages, you can combine the catch-all feature with anti-spam filters so as to get only authentic emails in your inbox. Only one mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be enabled for a catch-all mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Website Hosting
If you have a website hosting with us and you would like to activate the catch-all feature for a given e-mailbox that you have in your web hosting account, it will take literally just a click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to achieve this. A catch-all button is available to the right of each email address that you have created under any domain name hosted in the account. You can select one address per domain by clicking the corresponding button. This will enable the feature momentarily, so all messages sent to miswritten addresses will be re-sent there. Clicking the button for a second time will disable the catch-all feature. If you’ve got enabled email forwarding, our system will exhibit a warning notice and you will not be able to activate the catch-all feature till you delete the forwarding or you can simply select some other mailbox to be the catch-all one.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
The catch-all feature can be activated without any effort if you have a semi-dedicated server plan with our company. All the email addresses that you’ve created using the domains hosted in your semi-dedicated server account will be displayed in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel and you’ll notice a tiny symbol conveniently situated directly next to each of them. With just one single click, you can enable or disable the catch-all option for any mailbox of your choice provided that there isn't another mailbox under that same domain with the option already enabled and there isn't activated email forwarding. Instead, you can right-click on an email address and activate the feature using the contextual menu that will come into view. In case any of the conditions for setting up a catch-all mailbox is not answered, our system will warn you, but will not deactivate or replace anything automatically.
